An Empress in relaxed sweatpants and sturdy boots waits at the bus stop, unaware of the snail resting just beside her sole. Impatient for the bus, she shifts her weight — and without noticing, her boot comes down fully over it, crushing it completely and leaving behind only a faint, broken trace on the ground. She continues standing as before. Then, with another careless movement, her boot presses over it again — this time she feels it. Glancing down briefly, she pushes the remains aside with a dismissive flick of her foot. And just like that, she resumes waiting, composed and unmoved.
